THINGS TO DO

HOW TO GET TO NAXOS

If you are flying into Athens International Airport, you can catch a flight directly to Naxos with Aegean Airlines or Sky Express. The travel time to Naxos by airplane is about 1 hour.

by plane

Another option from Athens — a route that most Greeks prefer due to the space availability and timetable frequency — is to travel to Naxos and the isles of the Small Cyclades by ferry or high-speed catamaran. The trip by boat is all part of the island experience. Most of the reservations may be booked directly online, or through your travel agent/service. Travel time to Naxos from the port of Pireaus by ferry ranges from 5.5 – 6 hours, depending on the timetable and from Pireaus via high speed hydrofoil from 3.5 to 4 hours depending on the company/timetable.

Bus service to the port of Piraeus is available from Athens airport. The transport time from the airport to the port of Piraeus is about 1 hr 45 minutes. In addition, access to the port of Piraeus from Athens International Airport is available by taking the Metro to the Monastiraki station and then making the connection to the ISAP train line to Piraeus.

Please Note: In the summer months, Naxos is connected to Athens via a second port, the port at Rafina. About 30-45 minutes by car from Athens International Airport.

CAR RENTAL

Kambones 1615, is a privately restored Venetian tower house, which preserves five centuries of architectural, agricultural and cultural heritage. It is in continuous use for over 500 years, and the 200-hectare estate includes a
residence, an olive press, farm structures and a rare double-aisled chapel representing both Orthodox and Catholic traditions. The site is deeply embedded in its natural surroundings, where ancient olive trees coexist with nesting birds of prey.

Its restoration is the privately funded project of the sole family of owners. Started in 2012, and with the help and guidance of local craftsmen, consultation of expert architects and lots of personal efforts, the interventions, came to a completion and included structural repairs as well as repairs of a heritage interest (furniture, textiles and copperware).

This fully environmentally sustainable building and recipient of the European Heritage Award 2024, is not a museum; it is a living home which offers the ultimate sustainable rural experience to its guests, together with breathtaking views of serenity and slow living.
